Nursing Assistant Training classes for certification Admission Requirements.
- Passing grades on entrance exam (English reading, writing, and comprehension). The exam will be given on the first day of class.
- Have no back problems that prevent safe lifting of at least 50 pounds.
- Must pass DSHS and Washington state background test (form will be provided on the first day of class)
- Provide Photo Identification and social security number
- Provide proof of TB test(The 2 step skin test or chest x-ray result)
Requirements for successful completion
- Attendance of all classes
- successful clinical completion(ceil blue uniform, transfer belt ,watch with a second hand and tennis shoes compulsory for clinical)
- Passing all in class exams with a score of 80% or higher
- Passing skill competency exam in order to be certified by Washington State.
Course Outline
- Roles and responsibilities of a Certified Nursing Assistant
- Rules and regulations governing health care
- Communication skills/interpersonal relationships
- Safety and emergency procedures (including American Heart Association CPR)
- Basic restorative care
- Infection Control including 7 hours HIV/AIDS class
- Resident right &independence
- Personal care skills
- Care of the cognitively impaired
Additional Training Tools
Pens/Pencils, Notebook, face mask, hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, and 1 box gloves are needed for the first day of class
